Homeownership Month Highlight: Mesa County HFH Homeowner Kim

June is National Homeownership Month, so HFHC is honoring Habitat Homeowners by telling their stories! Read Kim’s amazing thank you that she gave during her home dedication earlier this month:

Houses are made with bricks and beams, Homes are filled with hopes and dreams. Today we stand in a house that was constructed out of bricks and beams, built with sweat, blood, tears and most importantly LOVE.  This house became a home that started being filled with hopes and dreams long before it was finished.  Words will never express my gratitude for each and every person who has helped make our dream a reality.  We started this program as strangers and over this last few months our family has grown.  I am grateful to each and everyone of the volunteers, for you made the choice to show up day after day come, rain, snow or shine to help make our dream come true. Thank you to all of the restaurants and individuals who made us meals to fuel us through the day, for family’s and friends are brought together around a dinner table.  Thank you to my parents and our family and friends for all of your support for without you I don’t know how I would have been able to do this.  Thank you to the Habitat affiliate and Restore staff and my family partner.  I didn’t set out to be a single mom, I set out to be the best mom that I can be and today we are receiving the best gift ever.  Today I stand before you, our family and friends to show my daughter that no matter how big your dreams are that with hard work you can do anything.  Thank You to each and every one of you for always believing in me and for helping me bless my daughter with a home to call our OWN.
