Karen Kallenberg, Executive Director
Karen comes to Habitat Colorado from Habitat for Humanity International, where in her ten year tenure she developed programs for campus chapters, provided consultation, training, and support to affiliates across the country, coordinated the 2003 Jimmy Carter Work Project and helped to organize the 2008 Home Builders’ Blitz. She has led five Global Village trips to build homes around the world. Karen holds a Bachelor Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s of Arts in Nonprofit Management from Regis University where she was inducted into the Jesuit National Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Nu.
Tamara Foglio, Director of Development and Engagement
Bringing more than two decades of Habitat experience to her position before coming to Habitat Colorado, Tamara spent nine years at Habitat International, creating and executing a variety of projects and programs including Hope Journeys. With a strong background in both Program and Resource Development, she has had the privilege of learning from some of the very best in the organization and is honored to be a part of this small but mighty team at Habitat Colorado.
Jennifer O’Keefe, Director of Grants and Loans
Jennifer O’Keefe comes to Habitat Colorado with a background in non-profit management and environmental education. After recently spending time in small business management, she felt a call to come back to the non-profit world and is excited to be a part of the Habitat team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University, a Master of Arts in Biology from Miami University, and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University.
Emily Barker, Development and Communications Manager
Emily comes to Habitat Colorado with a background in healthcare and a passion for community well-being and affordable homeownership. Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and is dedicated to making a lasting impact on communities across Colorado.
Jack Straton, Grants and Loans Manager
Jack comes to Habitat Colorado with a background in data analytics and grant coordination. He has a strong passion for expanding homeownership opportunities. Raised in Pennsylvania, Jack graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics. After several years of working on disaster relief projects in Colorado and Texas, he is thrilled to join the Habitat team that is so committed to making a positive impact in our communities.
Rebekah Wagner, Grants and Loans Manager
Rebekah comes to Habitat Colorado with a background in healthcare and banking. After several years of grant coordination in collaboration with FirstBank and the Federal Home Loan Bank, she felt a call to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. She’s excited to apply her banking knowledge and passion for serving others to her new role at Habitat, where she can help create affordable homeownership opportunities across the state.
Amanda Cooper, Project Manager
Amanda comes to Habitat Colorado with two decades of project management experience in design and development in the soft goods industry. She is originally from the east coast and has her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Amanda is new to the non-profit sector and is excited to apply her management expertise to her work at Habitat while making a positive impact on communities across Colorado.
Chloe Applegate, Grants Coordinator
Chloe comes to Habitat Colorado with a background in education and volunteer coordination. After spending two years teaching, she wanted to expand her impact to the world of affordable homeownership. Chloe holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder and is excited to help more families and individuals across Colorado achieve homeownership.
