FY26 Legislative Priorities

Habitat for Humanity of Colorado builds and preserves affordable homes in more than 45 communities statewide. Our homebuyers, who work in healthcare, retail, education, manufacturing and public service, are the backbone of strong and thriving communities. Stable, affordable homeownership strengthens health, learning, economic mobility and long-term community vitality. Colorado’s prosperity depends on ensuring a full housing continuum that includes clear, attainable pathways into homeownership.

Colorado’s housing crisis touches every region. Production lags behind demand, costs continue to climb, and starter homes have become nearly impossible to build under current conditions. To meet the moment, state policy must prioritize affordable homeownership as a core strategy for economic opportunity. Habitat for Humanity of Colorado’s 2026 Legislative Agenda outlines the advocacy priorities that will guide our work at the Capitol to expand, protect and sustain homeownership opportunities across the state.
